Help & Learning

Short guides to support your conversation practice.

The Spiral of Connection — Before You Bring It Up, When They Pull Away, When It Needs To Be Said, When It's Heating Up, and After It Went Wrong.
How the phases fit together: Safety → Connection → Trust → Openness → Meaningful Conversation

How practice works

Each scenario plays out over short turns. You pick from three realistic things to say, the other person reacts, and you see one short insight before the next turn.

There is no right answer

Most turns offer more than one valid choice, each with a trade-off. Part of the practice is feeling the tension of choosing.

When It's Heating Up vs Before You Bring It Up

When It's Heating Up (practice focus: Firefighting) is for moments already under pressure — the goal is to stabilize. Before You Bring It Up (practice focus: Creating Conditions) is for the time before the conversation — the goal is to make the ground safer.

Practice tips

Choose a module that fits how the conversation feels right now — When It's Heating Up for high-pressure moments, Before You Bring It Up when you want to set a calmer tone before diving in.
